The 2019 WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) Finals came down to the last final game 5 where both teams the Washington Mystics and Connecticut Suns came ready to battle for the title. The finals series games were a pure show of grit, and very competitive, the first 4 games the teams demonstrated a tight resilient nature of early dominance by the winning team however strong comeback by the challenger. The series went back and forth with the Mystics taking the first game 95-86, the Suns took the second game 99-87, the third went to the Mystics and the Suns then tied the series 2-2 bringing it down to the decisive game 5. The Mystics would claim the title with a win of 89 to 78. The Belgian Emma Meessman from the Mystic was named most valuable player in the finals while her teammate Elena Delle Donne was named league MVP.
Elena Delle Donne would play the finals with a herniated disk after battling with back injuries through the last months of the regular season. She missed the 2nd game after retiring early in the first but would come back to play the remaining games in pain and much discomfort assisting her team with the great offence lead, she is known to deliver. In game 5 just played around 40 minutes and was able to put up 21 points, 9 rebound
